Background & Challenge

Voilo is a payments start-up, established in 2020. It was established to help make payments fair for everyone w designed to provide cheap and securith an approach designed to save businesses and charities up to 90% in transaction costs – often the annoyance of small and independent businesses – whilst also rewarding shoppers.

With a focus on their local independent business and charity community – in their home city of Birmingham – the team has put its focus into levelling the opportunities for all businesses. It means that, irrespective of size or turnover, businesses and charities aren’t at a disadvantage when compared to their bigger competitors. That manifests itself through simple and inexpensive payments, but also through data and insight.

Through its loyalty and reward development, a thriving network of businesses, charities, donors and shoppers can be created.

With a strong set of investors sitting behind them, along with ambitious short, medium and long-term growth targets, the business needed a strategic marketing partner that could help define its proposition, alongside its vision, mission and values, as well as helping give razor-sharp focus to its go-to-market activity.

Following a pitch process, Konductor was engaged to support the team.

With vast experience within Open Banking/fintech and investor-backed organisations, the Konductor team has utilised the full spectrum of its Four-K approach to support Voilo.

Our Approach & Delivery

  • We used our routines through Kritical Thinking and Kuriosity pillar to work with the leadership team and define the company purpose, vision, mission and values.
  • We undertook a workshop to help refine the focus that sits behind its growth targets, understanding target audience.
  • We built a tone of voice and a messaging house.
  • Through our Kommunication pillar we updated the website and key sales tools, as well as delivering insights to support an evolution of its online presence.
  • All activity was underpinned with our pillar of Kommercial Accumen.
